Shawano Pathways is inviting amateur photographers from Shawano County to showcase the beauty and recreational opportunities found along the county’s trails, waterways and greenways through its 2026 Trails Photo Contest.
Photographers are encouraged to capture either the natural beauty of Shawano County trails — including flora, fauna, vistas and sunsets — or the experiences of people enjoying the outdoors through activities such as biking, walking, hiking, snowshoeing and paddling.
Eligible locations include the Mountain-Bay and Wiouwash state trails, Maple Hills and Hayman Falls trails, Wescott bike routes, Shawano Park-to-Park Loops, Kroenke Lake State Natural Area and paddle-able lakes and rivers.
The contest is open to amateur photographers who live in Shawano County. Each photographer may submit up to three photos taken between Jan. 1 and Oct. 31, 2026.
First-place winner will receive $75, second place $50 and third place $25. Winning entries will also be printed and framed. Selected photos may also be used in Shawano Pathways publications, social media, its website and the 2027 Pathways calendar.
Winners will be publicly announced at the Shawano Pathways annual social Nov. 17.
Photos must be submitted by midnight Oct. 31 to info@shawanopathways.org.
Entries must be JPG or PNG files between 1MB and 8MB, with one photo submitted per email. Entrants must provide their name, contact information, photo title, location and a brief story about the photo.
Complete contest rules are available at shawanopathways.org. Questions may be directed to Nancy Brown-Koeller at info@shawanopathways.org.
