VFW Post 8068 is making significant progress on its new building project with the help of the generosity and dedication of local residents, businesses and veterans.
While much has already been accomplished, post officials say continued community support will be essential to completing the next phase of construction.
The new building represents an important investment in the future of the post and its ability to serve veterans, military members, their families and the surrounding communities.
Post Commander Ted Kowalski expressed his appreciation for the overwhelming support the project has received so far.
“We are incredibly grateful for the amazing community support that has brought our project this far,” Kowalski said. “From our members to the many individuals and businesses who have contributed their time, resources and expertise, every effort has helped move us closer to our goal.”
In recognition of those contributions, the VFW is currently designing a permanent donor wall to honor the individuals, families and businesses whose generosity has helped make the project possible.
Although construction has made considerable progress, several major components must still be completed before the building can become fully operational. The next phase of construction will focus on the installation of well and septic systems; heating, ventilation, air conditioning and plumbing; electrical work; and insulation and drywall.
To help fund these improvements, the VFW is asking community members, local businesses and organizations to consider contributing to its ongoing building campaign. Donations may also be made in honor or memory of a loved one, providing an opportunity to recognize someone special while supporting an organization dedicated to veterans and community service.
Kowalski said that contributions of any size are appreciated and will help bring the project closer to completion.
“This building is more than just a structure,” Kowalski said. “It represents our commitment to continuing to serve those who have served our country, while remaining an active part of our local communities.”
As construction continues, the post plans to share additional updates on fundraising progress, upcoming events and future milestones.
Those wishing to contribute may mail donations to: VFW Post 8068 Building Fund, 184702 State Highway 153, Wittenberg, WI 54499.
