Jack’s Fry Shack wins chamber golf outing

A day of golf, fellowship and community support brought local businesses and residents together Aug. 5, as the Peshtigo and Oconto Area Chamber of Commerce hosted its annual golf outing at Little River Country Club.

The team from Jack’s Fry Shack captured first place with a score of 33. Team members received gift certificates to the country club.

The nine-hole scramble drew 48 golfers competing on 12 four-person teams, with seven additional guests joining the group for dinner following the event. Together, participants helped generate $3,557.76 in net proceeds to support chamber programs, community initiatives and educational scholarships.

Brian Sabel, golf outing committee chair and chamber board member, said the event’s success reflects the strong support of the local business community.

“We are incredibly grateful for the support of our sponsors, golfers, donors and volunteers,” Sabel said. “The success of this event is a direct reflection of the generosity and commitment of our local business community.”

While the outing provides an opportunity for area businesses and community members to connect outside of the workplace, its impact extends well beyond the golf course.

A significant portion of the event’s value comes through the Peshtigo chamber’s scholarship program. Proceeds help fund four $750 scholarships awarded each year to graduating seniors from Peshtigo High School.

“The golf outing continues to be one of our most important fundraising events,” Sabel said. “Not only does it support chamber activities and strengthen relationships within our business community, but it also helps provide educational opportunities for local students.”
