A home field advantage didn’t help the Birnamwood Kings on July 10 in their Badger Amateur Baseball Association North Division matchup with Antigo/Polar.
Brady Renfro’s four hits — including a grand slam — helped the Bears pick up a 14-4 win in Birnamwood.
North Division
Antigo/Polar 14, Birnamwood 4
Milo Salvesen, Braxton Olson, Ben Robrecht and AJ Kirsch each had two of Antigo/Polar’s 15 hits, and Chris Sippl improved to 2-0 after picking up the win on the mound.
Carson Meverden hit a home run and had three of Birnamwood’s nine hits. Logan Thiex and Zandyr Barke added two hits each, and Mason Meverden took the loss.
Hatley 10, Aniwa 6
The Braves and Orioles combined for 28 hits and 16 runs July 12 at Legion Memorial Park in Hatley.
Braxton Olson, Nick Cotter and Kodie Kocher each had three of Hatley’s 17 hits, while Tanner Kocher added two hits. Sam Meerstein picked up the win on the mound.
Gavin Steppart and Kody Szews had three of Aniwa’s 11 hits; Wade Farmer added a home run. Tanner Graham and Chris Weisman each had a double.
Szews took the loss for the Orioles.
Elderon 3, Crandon 1
The WhiskeyJacks headed to Crandon July 12 and returned home following a win over the Kentucks.
