Abrams Spotlight Productions Inc. will hold auditions Aug. 24-25 for its winter show, “Miracle on 34th Street: A Live Musical Radio Play” to be presented Dec. 3-6 and Dec. 10-13.
This show, directed by Debra Jolly, calls for male and female cast members, ages 8 and up, with a special tap dance number featuring children ages 8-12.
Based on the beloved holiday classic, this heartwarming story follows Kris Kringle, a kind and cheerful man who claims to be the real Santa Claus after becoming a department store Santa. When his identity is questioned, a courtroom battle begins that asks everyone to consider one important question: Do you believe? This unique production brings the magic of a live radio broadcast to the stage with actors, music, sound effects and storytelling all coming together to create a memorable holiday experience.
Individuals can audition: 6-8 p.m. Aug. 24 or 25, at the Nancy Byng Community Theater, 5852 Maple St., Abrams. Individuals who audition should come prepared to sing one minute of a song from a musical. A pianist will be available to play sheet music, or those who audition can provide their own accompaniment.
The auditions will also include a reading. Children interested in the tap dance performance will take part in a brief choreography audition.
If an in-person audition isn’t feasible, contact ASPI at 920-826-5852 or theater.aspi@gmail.com to submit a video audition.
To save time, individuals are encouraged to complete the online audition paperwork prior to auditions. A link can be found under the Events/Auditions tab at www.abramstheater.com. The auditions tab also includes rehearsal information and character descriptions.
