William “Bill” Heaney, 59, Gillett, died Friday evening, Nov. 15, 2013, at the Woodland Village of Gillett. He was born March 6, 1954, in Oconto Falls to Ervin “Charlie” and Stella (Smits) Heaney.
Bill was an avid hunter, especially for bear, and enjoyed being outdoors with family and friends. He will be fondly remembered as a caring man who loved to visit over a cup of coffee and share stories about his hunting experiences over the years.
Survivors are two sisters, Rosemary (Norbert) Young, Pulcifer, and Karen Deshler, and special friend Jean Lutsey, Green Bay; one sister-in-law, Joanne Heaney, Waupaca; two uncles, Martin Smits, Gillett, and George (Doris) Smits, Green Bay; one aunt, Anna Mae Blazer, Maribel; one niece and three nephews; and good friend Allen (Jane) Schenkoski, Gillett.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Peter Heaney.
Private burial services will take place at Bethel Lutheran Cemetery, town of Green Valley. Jones Funeral Service in Oconto Falls is serving the Heaney family.
The Heaney family would like to thank Bill’s good friends Allen Schenkoski and Larry Jeske, niece Lori Carlson and Harold Smits for their companionship and care shown Bill, as well as Southern Care Hospice and Woodland Village of Gillett.
