Warren L. Cass, 82, of Embarrass, passed away on Thursday, Nov. 21, 2013, at the Appleton Medical Center. Warren was born on April 4, 1931, in the Township of Matteson, Waupaca County, the son of the late Ira and Hazel (Velie) Cass.
He later attended Woodland School, also in the Township of Matteson. On March 26, 1979, Warren was united in marriage to Rhoda Peeler in Lake County, Ill. The couple lived in the Township of Matteson all of their married life. Warren worked at Georgia Pacific Plywood, New London, Torborg’s Clintonville Lumber and the F.W.D. Corporation (now Seagrave Fire Apparatus) in Clintonville from 1978 until retirement in 1996. Rhoda preceded her husband in death on Aug. 28, 2009, after 30 years of marriage. Warren later moved to Embarrass, where he lived since.
His hobbies included fishing, hunting, gardening, playing card games and enjoying his dog companions. He was a loyal fan of the Milwaukee Brewers, the Green Bay Packers and the Wisconsin Badgers. Warren also was a member of the United Steel Workers Union.
Survivors include his stepdaughter, Sandra (Larry) Wussow, Cecil; stepson, Kenneth (Terri) Lardinois, Wausau; step-grandchildren, Christopher Wussow, Jennifer (Jay) Toellner, Katie (Josh) Bussian, Troy Lardinois, Dana (Brad) Henning, Bryan (Krissy) Eckert and Jonathon (Tanya) Eckert; 14 great-stepgrandchildren; three sisters, Beatrice Klitz, Caroline, Virginia Kienast, Waukesha, and Arlis Kabble, Clintonville; one brother, Henry Cass, Lakewood; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Rhoda; and sisters, Florence Ross, Dorothy Graper, Mary Schafer and Lula Pflager.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, Nov. 25, 2013, at the Eberhardt-Stevenson Funeral Home & Crematory, Clintonville, with Deacon Lincoln Wood officiating. Inurnment will be in the Cicero United Methodist Cemetery, Township of Cicero, Outagamie County. Friends may call at the funeral on Monday from 10 a.m. until the time of the service.
