Shirley Ann Juds

Shirley Ann Juds, 85, passed away on Aug. 15, 2013, at the Life Care Center of Sierra Vista, Ariz. Shirley Ann Martha Schulz was born on Aug. 27, 1927, in Milwaukee to Robert and Lillian (Tank) Schulz. She graduated from Rufus King High School on June 15, 1945. She was united in marriage to Howard Juds on June 21, 1947, at Gospel Lutheran Church in Milwaukee. She worked as a secretary at Spincraft and later as a cost clerk with Allis Chalmers. In 1959, Shirley and Howard moved to Cecil, where they owned and operated Juds Tavern for many years. After selling the business, the Juds family remained in the Cecil/Bonduel area. Shirley served as the clerk-treasurer for the village of Cecil from 1978-1995. After her husband’s death in 1995, Shirley relocated to Onalaska to live with her daughter, Monica. She moved with Monica’s family to Arizona in 1996. Shirley resided at the Life Care Center of Sierra Vista following a stroke in February 2004. Her sense of humor and personality endeared her to the staff. The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the caregivers and staff at the Life Care Center for their sincere and compassionate care. A special thanks to the members of Faith Presbyterian Church and the Nursing Home Ministry Team for their visits and support to Shirley and her family. Shirley was preceded in death by her husband, Howard; her sisters, Ruth Roehr and Elaine Noll; and her parents. Shirley is survived by her sister, Jeanette Noll, of Milwaukee. Shirley will be missed by her four children, Monica Russell-Davis and her husband, Glenn, of Sierra Vista, Michael Juds and his wife, Janice, of Little Suamico, Melanie Thornton and her husband, James II, of Green Bay, and Marshal Juds, of Little Suamico. Shirley is also survived by 13 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren: Heather Russell, of Las Vegas, Christopher Russell (Daniela) and son Christopher, of Tucson, Jennifer Russell, of Sierra Vista, Rachael Warren (Cody) and sons James and Brody, of Vail, Ariz., Scott Russell (Tamara), of Sierra Vista, Daniel Russell and daughter Maelee, of Fort Gordon, Ga., Jonathan, Brittany and Katie Juds, of Sanford, S.C., Tabetha Thornton and sons Dustin and Jacob, of Green Bay, James III and Rachel Thornton, of Green Bay, and Patrick Davis, of Tucson. A memorial service will be conducted at the Life Care Center of Sierra Vista at 2 p.m. Thursday with the Rev. Virginia A. Studer officiating. In lieu of flowers, lease send donations to the Faith Presbyterian Church Nursing Home Ministry Team, 2053 E. Choctaw Drive, Sierra Vista, AZ 85650-9553. Hatfield Funeral Home is in charge of the cremation. A service of internment will take place at Faith Presbyterian Church’s Memorial Garden at a later date.
