Thirty-six members of the Shawano High School Class of 1953, along with spouses and guests, met at the Shawano County Park Pavilion recently for their 60-year class reunion.
Honored guests at the anniversary event included coach Russ Owen, his wife, Pat, and their daughter, Kay, and former teacher Vera Drengler and her daughter, Joan.
Ada Deer, who was the class vice president, served as emcee for the event. The program included Owen speaking about his experience as a coach and living in Shawano.
Jim Leuenberger, of Shawano, also gave a slide presentation describing the Shawano County barn quilt project, which he started three years ago.
The Shawano High School Class of 1953 plans to hold its next reunion in 2016.
