Suring defeats Wabeno/Laona
The Suring High School football team jumped out to a 18-0 halftime score and held on to win 18-14 after Wabeno/Laona scored two touchdowns in the third quarter of a nonconference game Friday in Suring.
Suring quarterback Creo VanBellinger completed 5 of 10 attempts for 92 yards, two touchdowns and an interception. He was also the team’s leading rusher with 21 carries for 97 yards and a touchdown.
The two teams were nearly even in total offense, Suring finishing with 189 yards to Wabeno/Laona’s 184.
Lena/STAA falls to Mosinee
Lena/STAA fell behind early and never recovered in a 54-6 nonconference loss to Mosinee on Friday in Marinette.
The Titans trailed 28-0 after the first quarter and wouldn’t break the shut out until a score in the fourth quarter.
Mosinee racked up 422 yards of total offense. Mosinee also had 256 yards rushing.
