Hawks top Seymour in OT The Shawano Community High School girls basketball team beat Seymour 40-37 in overtime Tuesday in Shawano. Tied 33-33 after four quarters, the Hawks (1-2, 1-1 Bay) outscored Seymour (1-3, 1-1 Bay) 7-4 in the overtime period. Lyndsey Kurtz led Shawano with 11 points. Madilyn Heinke led Seymour with eight points. ^ Dowden’s dozen help Bears top Shiocton The Bonduel High School girls basketball team beat Shiocton 40-26 in Central Wisconsin Conference-8 action Tuesday in Bonduel. Jennifer Dowden led the Bears (4-1, 1-1 CWC-8) with 12 points, seven rebounds and three steals. Alexa Reinke had nine points, seven rebounds, three blocks, three steals and three assists. Deanna Zernicke added 10 points. Sam Schmidt led Shiocton (2-2, 1-1 CWC-8) with 10 points. ^ Panthers lose to Wild Rose The Bowler High School boys basketball team lost to CWC-10 foe Wild Rose 62-54 Tuesday in Bowler. Cody Montez scored 16 and Walker Miller added 12 for Bowler (2-3, 1-3 CWC-10). Josh Erickson scored 34 to lead Wild Rose (3-4, 3-1 CWC-10). ^ Chargers beat Manawa by 11 The Wittenberg-Birnamwood High School boys basketball team beat Manawa 48-37 in CWC-8 action Tuesday in Wittenberg. Nick Kapitz scored 17 points for Wittenberg-Birnamwood (3-4, 1-2 CWC-8). David Blum’s 12 points led Manawa (2-5, 0-3 CWC-8). ^ Eagles top Rosholt as Pecore tallies 18 The Menominee Indian High School boys basketball team beat Rosholt 52-42 in CWC-10 action Tuesday in Keshena. Michael Pecore scored 18 points to lead Menominee Indian (3-2, 2-2 CWC-10). Jason Richter led Rosholt (0-5, 0-4 CWC-10) with 21 points. In junior varsity action, Menominee Indian beat Rosholt 31-29. ^ Reiter gets 100th win, Truckers finish 4th The Clintonville High School wrestling team placed fourth as Jake Reiter earned his 100th-career win Saturday at the Winnebago Lutheran Academy Invitational. Reiter, a 195-pound wrestler, took first place, defeating Oostburg’s Jordon Blok by a 10-1 decision. Charlie Poppe (182) also took first. Shayne Collar (160), Tim Jerabek (145) and Cole Cotherman (106) finished in second place. Other scores Boys basketball: Clintonville lost to Little Chute 50-28. Girls basketball: Wittenberg-Birnamwood demolished Manawa 63-11.
