A Pella woman is dead following a single-vehicle crash Oct. 10 in the Town of Belle Plaine.
At about 4:35 p.m., the Shawano County Sheriff’s Department responded to the area of County Road M and Capitol Drive for a report of a single-vehicle crash. The initial 911 caller reported the vehicle was in the ditch, overturned, and that there was no movement inside, according to a press release.
Upon arrival, deputies located the vehicle and determined it was occupied by one female driver, identified as 82-year-old Mary Rades. Deputies were able to remove Rades, who was unconscious and not breathing. Life-saving measures were attempted, but Rades was pronounced deceased a short time later at a nearby hospital.
The sheriff’s department was assisted by Shawano Ambulance, Shawano Fire Department, Belle Plaine EMS and the Shawano County Coroner’s Office.
At this time, there is no further information available for release, according to Lt. Chris Madle.
