The Oconto Falls High School Drama Club invites the community to come aboard and ride the rails of fun as it presents “Twentieth Century,” an adaptation of the classic Broadway comedy.
Bankrupt, with his career on a down slide, egomaniacal Broadway director Oscar Jaffe boards the Twentieth Century Limited train traveling from New York to Chicago and encounters his former discovery and ex-chorus girl Lily Garland, now a temperamental Hollywood star.
He pulls out all the stops in persuading her to return to Broadway in his upcoming show.
Starring in the roles of Oscar Jaffe and Lily Garland are students Garret Gubbels and Paige Spude, respectively. The remaining cast members are Kim Schliep, Nick Borisch, Holly Umentum, Hallie Kopczynski, Leah Wons, Brady Vrooman, Brady Vorpahl, Kianna Archiquette, Scott Heller, Megan Heller, Stephanie Stuiber, Maddie Knutson, Samara Kaiser, Jenna Langlay and Michael Jahnke.
The production is under the leadership of student director Maddie Sprout and faculty director Gayle Gander.
“Twentieth Century” leaves the station at 7 p.m. March 27, 28 and 29 at the Falls Area Performing Arts Center at Oconto Falls High School.
Tickets will be sold at the door; admission is $7 for adults, $6 for students and senior citizens, and $3 for students 12 and younger. Parents are advised that this show contains some mature humor.
