As a result of responding to the COVID-19 pandemic, many health departments — including Oconto County Public Health — had to put nearly all of their programs on hold.
One of those was the car seat program, but OCPH is once again accepting car seat appointments.
“We are pleased to announce that we are starting our car seat program back up,” said Debra Konitzer, Oconto County health officer. “We recognize that this is a valuable program, and we look forward to meeting with families to make sure that their children are riding safely.”
Certified Child Passenger Safety Technicians with OCPH will meet with families by appointment only to provide education, answer questions and assist with car seat installation. Car seats are available for purchase at the appointments. Eligible children who need a new car seat may receive a seat at no cost. Cash donations for the car seat program are welcomed and appreciated.
