Karen Grimm

Karen Grimm, 70, of Madison, entered heaven through the arms of the Lord on Nov. 27, 2013, at her sister’s home in Buffalo City. She was born on Sept. 24, 1943, to Arthur and Ethel (Albrecht) Grimm. Karen was baptized on Oct. 22, 1943, and confirmed April 14, 1957, at St. Matthew’s Lutheran church in Winona, Minn. She attended St. Matthew’s and St. Martin’s Lutheran School through the ninth grade and then attended Winona High, followed by four years at Winona State University, earning a degree in physical education. She taught physical education and coached for 34 years in Monona and Cottage Grove, until she retired in 1999. Karen especially enjoyed being with family and friends playing golf, snowmobiling, jet skiing, fishing and singing, and spending time with her special dog, K.C. She also sponsored a boy in Honduras through the Christian children fund. Karen is survived by her sisters, Beverly (Gerald) Thaldorf, of Buffalo City, and Lynette Grimm of Lake City, Minn.; niece, Chris (Kevin) Buswell; nephew, Clark (Terra) Thaldorf; grandnephews, Ben, Jacob and Michael; and special friend and caregiver, Carol Thieme, of Shawano; and also by many wonderful friends and neighbors. Praise and thanksgiving to celebrate Karen’s life was held at the Talbot Family Funeral Home in Cochrane on Saturday, Nov. 30, at 1 p.m. with Pastor Elroy V. Condradt officiating.
