Wildcats edge Wild Rose The Gresham Community High School boys basketball team beat Wild Rose 64-60 to open Central Wisconsin Conference-10 play Friday in Wild Rose. Christian Haffner and Scott Cerveny led the Wildcats (2-0, 1-0 CWC-10) with 17 points each. Both also had four assists. Killian Eggert added 14 points. Josh Erickson led Wild Rose (0-4, 0-1 CWC-10) with 25 points. Eagle boys top Tigers The Menominee Indian High School boys basketball team opened CWC-10 play Friday with a 44-38 win over Tigerton. No other stats were available by the Leader’s press time. Tigerton handles Manawa The Tigerton High School girls basketball team beat Manawa 35-23 in a nonconference game Friday in Tigerton. Erin Robbins led Tigerton (2-0) with 10 points. Ashley Strebe led Manawa (1-2) with eight points. Chargers top Mosinee The Wittenberg-Birnamwood High School girls basketball team beat Mosinee 44-41 in a nonconference game Friday in Wittenberg. Micah Nier led the Chargers (2-0) with 12 points and eight rebounds. She also had five steals and an assist. Taylor Bushman added 11 points, three rebounds, two assists and four steals. Erika Alwes added eight rebounds and six points. Rochelle Koshalek led Mosinee (1-2) with 15 points. Clintonville beat by Xavier The Clintonville High School boys basketball team lost to Appleton Xavier 63-28 in an Eastern Valley Conference game Friday in Clintonville. Parker Mindel led the Truckers (1-3, 1-2 Eastern Valley) with nine points. Turner Doornink led the team with seven rebounds. Matt Ferris led Xavier (3-1, 2-0 Eastern Valley) with 13 points and six rebounds.
