Harvey William Kucksdorf

Harvey William Kucksdorf, 86, of Shawano, died on Saturday, Dec. 14, 2013. Born on July 29, 1927, in the town of Herman, he is the son of the late William and Minnie (Suehring) Kucksdorf. On Dec. 23, 1950, at the Lutheran Indian Mission Church, Harvey was united in marriage to Ardelle F. Ferg, who preceded him in death on March 1, 2013. He was a cheesemaker and dairy farmer in the town of Herman. Harvey was a lifelong member of the Elias Lutheran Church and played on the dart ball team for many years. He served as a supervisor for the town of Herman for 20 years. Harvey enjoyed working in the woods, hunting and cooking maple syrup. Harvey is survived by his daughter, Betty (Ricky) Rosenow, of Wittenberg; his son, Randall (Annette) Kucksdorf, of Wonewoc; six grandchildren, Wendy (Clayton Jr.) Nooyen, Allen (Jessica) Rosenow, Darla (Jeremy) Graham, Bill (Jessica) Kucksdorf, Kari (Matt) Heesacker, Kelly (Dean) Berna; and 11 great-grandchildren, Caleb, Hailey, Casey, Spencer, Victor, Dexter, Gabrielle, Garrett, Gunnar, Bryce and Clyde. Harvey is further survived by a brother-in-law, Donald Ferg; two sisters-in-law, Diane Kucksdorf and Marlene Ferg; and several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. He was preceded in death by his wife, Ardelle; his parents; a brother, Rueben Kucksdorf; two brothers-in-law, Stanley Ferg and Kenneth Ferg; two sisters-in-law, Jane (Roger) Opperman and Alice Ferg. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 18, 2013, at the Elias Lutheran Church in the town of Herman with the Rev. Dennis Creswell officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Visitation will be held at the Swedberg Funeral Home in Gresham on Tuesday from 4-7 p.m. and at the church on Wednesday from 10 a.m. until the time of the service.
