Eugene O. Wolf, 77, of Shawano, passed away Tuesday, Dec. 24, 2013, at St. Vincent Hospital in Green Bay. Born on Oct. 12, 1936, in Milwaukee, he was the son of the late Henry and Emma (Sobieski) Wolf.
After graduating from high school, Eugene enlisted with the United States Reserves. On Feb. 7, 1959, he was united in marriage to Norma Elaine Meyer. Eugene worked for many years at the Neenah Foundry. He later purchased a tavern in New London that he owned and operated for several years. Eugene loved bartending and socializing with the patrons at his own bar as well as the many other establishments he worked at throughout his life.
Eugene is survived by his former wife, Norma Elaine Wolf; a daughter, Cindy (John) Schneider, of Shawano; two sons, Mike (Marion) Wolf, of Appleton, and Steve (Stacey) Wolf, of New London; six grandchildren, Aaron and Abby Schmallenberg, Alex and Taylor Wolf, Ryan and Kyle Wolf; and two great-grandchildren, Austin and Emma Schmallenberg.
Eugene was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers.
A private family service will be held at a later date. The Swedberg Funeral Home in Shawano is assisting the family with the arrangements.
