Jolene R. Bowan, 52, of Shawano, passed away Monday, Dec. 23, 2013, at her home surrounded by family and friends. Born on Oct. 26, 1961, in Shawano, she was the daughter of Dorothy (Zimmerman) Bowan and the late Allen L. Bowan.
Jolene lived in Shawano her entire life. She worked as a nurse and established the Bowan Adult Family Home. When not at work, she enjoyed landscaping and collecting angels. She was an active member of the Zion Lutheran Church in Shawano and their quilting sessions.
Jolene is survived by her mother, Dorothy Bowan, of Shawano; two brothers, Jeff (Marlene), of Embarrass, and Tom, of Shawano; dear friends of the family, Jill and Kathy; and her best friend, Diana.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Jan. 3, 2014, at the Zion Lutheran Church in Shawano with the Rev. Gisele Berninghaus officiating. Visitation will be held at the church on Friday from 10 a.m. until the time of the service.
In lieu of flowers and plants, a memorial fund has been established.
