Shawano boys defeat New London The Shawano Community High School boys basketball team beat New London 59-48 in a Bay Conference game Tuesday in New London. Shawano lost forward Jack Lacy to injury early in the game and withstood a New London rally that featured seven 3-pointers. Zeke Gueths led Shawano (13-8, 11-4 Bay) with 18 points. Dillon Frechette added 10 points, and Garrett Schlise had 12 rebounds. Zack Sousek scored eight points, seven coming at the free-throw line down the stretch. “Zeke down low was fantastic,” Shawano coach Chris Kellett said. Sam Porath and Ryan Wolf led New London (7-13, 6-9) with 12 points each. Wildcats fall to Port Edwards The Gresham Community High School boys basketball team lost to Central Wisconsin Conference-10 leading Port Edwards 68-47 Tuesday in Gresham. Christian Haffner had 17 points and four assists to lead Gresham (15-5, 13-4 CWC-10). Scott Cerveny had 13 points and six assists. Chris Montag led Port Edwards (20-1, 17-0) with 18 points. Jared Josslin added 17. Bowler boys fall to Eagles The Bowler High School boys basketball team lost to Menominee Indian 66-63 in a Central Wisconsin Conference-10 game Tuesday in Keshena. Chase Nueske scored 21 points and had 14 rebounds to lead Bowler (5-16, 3-14 CWC-10). Cody Montez added 18 points. Ron Frechette led Menominee Indian (9-10, 9-8) with 18 points. Michael Pecore added 16. Bowler boys beat Tigerton The Bowler High School boys basketball team defeated Tigerton 61-46 in a Central Wisconsin Conference-10 match-up Monday in Bowler. Cody Montez scored 23 points and had seven rebounds to lead Bowler (5-16, 3-14 CWC-10). Chase Nueske added 17 points and nine rebounds. Thomas Kazik had 15 points. Woodrow Nelson led Tigerton (4-16, 3-13 CWC-10) with 12 points. Taylor Matche led Bowler (11-8, 8-7 CWC-10) with 17 points, eight rebounds, three steals and two assists. Ashlynn Brisk logged her sixth triple-double of the season with 16 points, 14 rebounds and 11 steals. Kennedy Malone had 11 rebounds. Anias Smith and Sasha Peters led Menominee Indian (6-12, 5-10 CWC-10) with five points each. Tigerton falls to Rosholt The Tigerton High School girls basketball team lost to Rosholt 44-37 in a CWC-10 game Tuesday in Tigerton. Emily Wendt led Tigerton (4-13, 3-11 CWC-10) with 17 points and seven steals. Katie Watters had 14 points. Charity Desrochers had eight rebounds. Truckers beaten by Appleton Xavier The Clintonville High School boys basketball team lost to Appleton Xavier 56-42 in a Eastern Valley Conference game Tuesday in Appleton.
