Jerome F. “Jerry” Bukoski

Jerome F. “Jerry” Bukoski, 58, of the town of Washington, passed away Tuesday, Feb. 18, 2014, at his home. Born on Dec. 23, 1955, in Pound, he was the son of the late Harry and Theresa (Konowalski) Bukoski. On Aug. 4, 1978, he was united in marriage to Connie Sperberg in Oconomowoc. Jerry cherished the time he spent with his family, especially his grandchildren whether he was teaching them to play the guitar or taking them ice fishing. Jerry also enjoyed going to the demolition derbies, stock car races and ice races and was the founder of the Fire on Ice Racing Club. Jerry’s ability to build anything out of nothing benefited his job in the maintenance department well. He also worked at various auto parts stores in the area for many years. When not at work, Jerry enjoyed helping out his many friends, listening to music and camping. He also enjoyed lighting off fireworks and was a self-proclaimed “expert.” Jerry is survived by his wife, of 35 years, Connie; his son, Nathan (Summer) Bukoski, of Fall River; his daughter, Tess (Patrick) Hendricks, of Shawano; a stepson, Chad (Tina) Burr, of Shawano; and six grandchildren, Destiny, Connor, Olivia, Macey, Gabriella and Parker. Jerry is further survived by a brother, Robert Bukoski, of Tigerton; a sister, Terri (Greg) Shopofski, of Tigerton; sisters-in-law, Mary Sue Tarkowski, of Florida, Pat Tarkowski, of Green Bay, Carol (Don) Brei, of Shawano; two brothers-in-law, Calvin (Patty) Sperberg, of Green Bay, Chris (Kathy) Sperberg, of Shawano; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends, including great long-time friend Mike “Tex” (Cindy Craig) Winkler, of Shawano. Jerry was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, James and David Tarkowski. A gathering of family and friends will be held at the Swedberg Funeral Home in Shawano on Saturday, Feb. 22, 2014, from 11 a.m. until a time of sharing at 12:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund is being established. www.swedbergfuneralhome.com
