Author Brian Freeman recently released an e-novella set in Shawano.
“Turn to Stone” is available to purchase on Kindles and Nooks, and is available for checkout on the Shawano City-County Library’s e-readers.
Last April, Freeman visited the library to share his experiences as an author. At that time, a reader suggested Freeman visit the Novitiate. He did, and he returned to Shawano during the summer to further explore the area and collect ideas and information for the book.
As an e-novella, the story is a quick, short read that mentions local landmarks and businesses.
“Turn to Stone” leads into Freeman’s next novel, “The Cold Nowhere,” set to be released later this spring. As part of the book tour, Freeman will visit the Shawano City-County Library at 7 p.m. April 21 to talk about how Shawano inspired the story as well as to do a special reading from the book. After the program, Freeman will sign books, which will be available for purchase.
