At 1:18 p.m. Feb. 17 in the town of Pensaukee, a car driven by a woman from Menominee, Mich., was northbound on U.S. 41 at 75 mph when she lost control of the vehicle and entered the median at Erdman Lane. The vehicle overturned, causing severe damage. The driver and a male child passenger restrained in a car seat required medical transport. The driver was cited for driving too fast for conditions.
At 10:20 a.m. Feb. 21 in the town of Brazeau, a vehicle driven by a man from Athelstane was eastbound on state Highway 64, following an Oconto County snow plow driven by a man from Suring. His vehicle skidded and struck the snow plow, causing severe damage to the vehicle and moderate damage to the snow plow. The driver and a female passenger from Silver Cliff were injured and required medical transport. The snow plow driver suffered no apparent injury but was transported to a medical facility. The driver of the vehicle was cited for following too closely.
At 6:42 a.m. Feb. 21 in the town of Gillett, a vehicle driven by a woman from Gillett was northbound on state Highway 32 near Spring Hill Road. The woman slowed due poor visibility and blowing and drifting snow, and was struck from behind by a vehicle driven by a man from Gillett. There was minor damage to both vehicles.
At 6:51 a.m. Feb. 21 in the town of Abrams, a woman from Oconto Falls was eastbound on County Road E and failed to stop at a stop sign at U.S. Highway 141 due to snow and ice on the road. She collided with a southbound vehicle driven by a woman from Lena. Both vehicles sustained moderate damage.
At 3:40 p.m. Feb. 21 in the town of Townsend, a vehicle driven by a man from Townsend was eastbound on Village View Road. A man from Townsend operating a town of Townsend snow plow was backing up to replow an area and was unable to see the other vehicle approaching, due to drifting and blowing snow. The car was struck by the wing plow and sustained moderate damage. The plow was undamaged.
At 4:35 p.m. Feb. 21 in the town of Underhill, a woman from Gillett was southbound on County Road R and moved toward the shoulder for an oncoming snow plow. She lost control of her vehicle due to slippery conditions and crossed the oncoming lane, entered the ditch and overturned. The vehicle sustained moderate damage. There were no injuries.
At 8:13 a.m. Feb. 21 in the town of Oconto Falls, a woman from Shawano was eastbound on state Highway 22 and was followed by a pickup truck driven by a man from Gillett. The woman began slowing due to blowing snow and near white-out conditions. The man was unable to stop and struck the woman’s car. Her vehicle sustained moderate damage and the man’s truck, minor damage. There were no injuries.
At 1:27 p.m. Feb. 23 in the town of Oconto, a man from Oconto Falls was eastbound on state Highway 22 following a vehicle driven by a woman from Oconto. The woman slowed for another vehicle that was turning off Highway 22 into a driveway. The man was reaching for an item in his car and collided with the woman’s vehicle. His vehicle sustained severe damage. The woman’s car sustained moderate damage.
At 1:48 p.m. Feb. 24 in the town of Pensaukee, a vehicle driven by a man from Green Bay was northbound on U.S. Highway 41. A second vehicle driven by a man from Oconto turned from Kruegers Quarry Lane into the northbound passing lane. The man from Oconto moved to merge into the right lane after passing the man from Green Bay and was struck in the rear. The vehicle from Green Bay sustained moderate damage, and the other vehicle, severe damage. The man from Oconto was trapped in the vehicle and required medical transport.
