Carol J. Schlorhaufer (nee Ellman), 80, of Newport, Minn., passed peacefully under the care of her family on March 6, 2014, and went home to be greeted by her Heavenly Father, beloved husband, John “Jack,” and family.
Funeral services were held at 11:30 a.m. Wednesday, March 12, at Newport Lutheran Church, 900 15th St., Newport, with visitation from 10 a.m. until the time of the service. Interment will be at Forest Lawn Cemetery in St. Paul.
She is survived by her children, Diane Howe, Cynthia Kelly, Carol Pirozok, Lisa Prigge, John (Kathi) Schlorhaufer; grandchildren, Ken, Jacquelyn, Robert, Jenna, Kaitlin, Brenna, Austin and Chase; great-grandchildren, Jack, Paxton, Shelby, baby girl Hellquist and baby boy Kelly (both expected in April); sisters, Dorothy Schlosser, Verna Olson, Marian Nerenhausen and Betty (Clarence) Spice; brother-in-law, Henry Kolashinski; sister-in-law, Louise Ellman; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Jack; parents, Otto and Freida; siblings, Laura Whiting, Willard Ellman, Erma Hicks, Margaret Borkovec, Harvey and Milton Ellman.
