Three Lakes too much for Eagles
The second-seeded Suring High School girls basketball team lost in the semifinal round of the WIAA Division 5 regional tournament 53-46 to No. 3 Three Lakes on Friday in Suring.
Calley VanBellinger and Erin Fisher each scored 10 for Suring (12-11, 9-6 M&O).
Lindsay Schoff scored 20 to lead Three Lakes (14-10, 10-6 Northern Lakes).
Suring advanced to the semifinal with a 60-44 win over Wausaukee on March 4.
VanBellinger led Suring (12-11, 9-6 M&O) with 16 points. Jacquelyn Lenz and Fisher each added 12, and Kelsey School scored 10.
Alexis Ranallo led Wausaukee (2-21, 2-14 M&O) with 13 points.
Wildcats top Sevastopol, lose to Gillett
The fourth-seeded Lena High School girls basketball team opened the WIAA Division 5 regional tournament March 4 with a 42-34 victory over No. 5 Sevastopol in Lena.
Kayla VanLanen led Lena (8-15, 5-10 M&O) with 15 points. Melissa Bushmaker added 14.
Jessica Wagner led Sevastopol (2-18, 0-14 Packerland) with 14 points.
Lena then lost to Gillett 45-36 in the WIAA Division 5 regional semifinal Friday in Gillett.
Bushmaker led Lena (8-15, 5-10 M&O) with 23 points. VanLanen added five.
