Eight OFHS athletes earn Bay Conference honors

McKenna Larsen has been named girls basketball Player of the Year in the Bay Conference. She and seven other Oconto Falls High School athletes received all-conference honors for the winter sports season. Larsen, a 5-foot-7 senior guard, was named first-team, all-conference. She led the Bay in scoring this season with 293 points and a 18.3 points per game average. She also led the Bay in assists (82) and steals (63). Larsen scored more than 1,500 points in her career at OFHS. Carly Lemke, a 6-1 senior forward, was named to the Bay Conference second team. Elizabeth Watzka and Elizabeth Manns were both honorable mentions. The Oconto Falls girls basketball team (20-3, 13-3 Bay) finished tied for second in the Bay Conference. Four wrestlers earned all-conference awards. Junior Dewey Krueger (41-3), who finished second at 145 pounds in the state wrestling tournament, and Nate Trepanier (31-11) earned first-team honors. Brett Ash (35-5) was named to the second team. Sam Konitzer (15-9) earned a honorable mention. No Oconto Falls boys basketball players earned conference awards. The Oconto Falls boys basketball team (4-18, 2-14 Bay) finished eighth in the conference. Senior Sandy Cohen, who led the Seymour to the Bay Conference championship, was named the boys Player of the Year.
