The Badger Amateur Baseball Association’s four No. 1 seeds opened the postseason Aug. 16 with three convincing wins and a forfeit victory.
Eland, Gresham and Little Falls picked up wins over Elderon, Menominee and Leopolis in the North, East and West divisions, respectively, while Weymont forfeited to New London in the South-Central Division.
Finals in all four divisions will be played at 1:30 p.m. Aug. 23.
North Division
Eland 13, Elderon 7
Peyton Flees had four of Eland’s 15 hits in the Engineers’ home win over the WhiskeyJacks. Charlie Woida added three hits on a home run and a pair of doubles, while Nick Barns had two hits.
Jacob Ligenza also had a home run for Eland.
Brandon Groshek had two of Elderon’s 10 hits.
Tyler Nelson picked up the win on the mound, and Thomas Lemanczyk took the loss.
Antigo/Polar 18, Birnamwood 8
The third-seeded Bears ended the second-seeded Kings’ season with a loss in Birnamwood.
Chris Sippl picked up the win on the mound, and Mason Meverden took the loss.
East Division
Gresham 16, Menominee 3 (7 inn.)
The top-seeded Gophers needed only seven innings to defeat the Indians in Gresham.
Clintonville 21, Marion 9
Clintonville hosted Marion and handed the Meisters a 12-run loss.
West Division
Little Falls 12, Leopolis 0
Leopolis came up short against the defending BABA grand champions.
Wittenberg 13, Caroline 10
The Pilots hosted their first playoff game in 15 years and held on to top the Cougars.
Little Falls 14, Tilleda 0 (7 inn.)
The Loggers blanked the Woodchucks on Aug. 11 in Clintonville to complete a suspended game from Aug. 9.
South-Central Division
New London 9, Weymont 0
The fourth-seeded White Bass forfeited the game to the top-seeded Irish.
Scandinavia 5, Plover 2
Scandinavia headed to Plover and returned home with a win over the Pterodactyls.
New London 14 Scandinavia 3 (7 inn.)
New London picked up a win over the Vikings Aug. 12 in a rescheduled game.
Tyler Gerrits had three hits to lead New London at the plate, while Ethan Herzfeldt and Ethan Bergen added two hits each.
Michael Glodowski, Brycen Cashin and Ben Lee each had a hit for the Vikings.
Connor Brinkman struck out 10 batters while picking up the win on the mound, and Glodowski took the loss.
