The annual Christmas cantata at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Gillett is titled “A Child is Born … All is Well.”
An ecumenical choir of more than 25 performers will present this Christmas musical twice before Christmas and twice following Christmas at St. John’s, 101 W. Main St., Gillett. While there is substantial road construction on Highway 22 through Gillett, there is always access to the church property.
The cantata will be performed at 7 p.m. Dec. 19 and Dec. 30, and at 2 p.m. Dec. 21 and Dec. 28. There is no charge for admission, but a freewill offering will be accepted. A dessert reception will follow each performance.
A cantata is a musical performance with narration rather than characters. This production features many well-known Christmas songs and some contemporary selections to uplift audience members during the holiday season. There will also be a singalong of some favorite Christmas melodies.
