Mike Trinko picked to fill county board vacancy

Mike Trinko is the newest member of the Shawano County Board of Supervisors.

Trinko was appointed Aug. 27 to fill the vacancy create by the resignation of Raymond Rigsby, who was appointed last month as the new county clerk.

He will represent District 22 until the April 2026 election. He also serves on the Seneca Town Board.

County Board Chairman Tom Kautza said he had five residents express interest int he job.

“I spoke with each one of them,” Kautza said. “In the end … I decided to recommend him (Trinko) to the board.”

Also expressing interest were Jerry Ahlers and Anne Smith, who both ran in the 2022 election, and Jim Radtke and Brian Heins.
