Marion Donna Mae (nee Huehnerfuss) Ruechel was born Aug. 18, 1930, in Rib Falls to the late Emil and Goldie (Roeder) Huehnerfuss.
She was united in marriage to Marvin Ruechel on July 23, 1955, at Trinity Lutheran Church, Wausau. Marion was a devoted mother to their two children, Mark and Mary, often baking cookies and taking wonderful care of the family. She was very proud of her grandchildren and relished anytime spent with them. Marion was very active at Rib Mountain Lutheran Church in her younger years, often working with the Ladies Aid. She enjoyed going up north to the lake, where the family would camp in their trailer. Marion’s free time was often spent reading and embroidering.
Marion Ruechel, 83, Wausau, died Sunday, Feb. 16, 2014, at her home.
Marion is survived by her beloved children, Mark (Nancy) Ruechel and Mary (Chris) Szeklinski; grandchildren, Scott, Brad and Megan; brother, Charles Huehnerfuss; and extended family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 55 years, Marvin, and her sister, Delores Oelke.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday, Feb. 21, 2014, at Rib Mountain Lutheran Church. The Rev. Raymond Connor will be officiating. Visitation will be from 4-7 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 20, at Helke Funeral Home, Wausau, resuming Friday at the church from 10 a.m. until the time of services. Burial will be at Restlawn Memorial Park at a later time.
