Lucille “Cele” Stauber

Lucille “Cele” Stauber, 88, of Laona passed away peacefully on Aug. 25, 2013. Born in Laona on April 7, 1925, Lucille was the youngest child of Louis and Harriet (Hansen) Bocher. A graduate of Laona High School, member of the Class of 1943, Lucille married Norbert “Stub” Stauber on Sept. 30, 1943. Together they raised nine children. A loving wife and mother, Lucille was a member of the VFW Women’s Auxiliary and the Laona Presbyterian Church Ladies Aid Society. She also worked at the Laona State Bank for 19 years before retiring in 1987. Among survivors are her children: Norbert (Cathy), of De Pere; Linda White, of Green Bay; Nancy (Don) Schroder, of Rhinelander; Barbara Cleereman, of Cavour; Lucy (Dale) O’Keefe, of Appleton; Steve (Juli), of Wisconsin Rapids; Jeff (Shelly), of Green Bay; and Gregg (Debbie), of Laona. She is further survived by 21 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Her life was further enhanced by several special friendships. Lucille was preceded in death by her husband, Norbert; her youngest son, Todd; grandson, Christopher; her parents; brothers, Phillip and Robert Bocher; and sister, Jean Johnston. Family will receive visitors from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Friday, Aug. 30, at the Weber-Hill Funeral Home, 302 S. Lake St., Crandon. A memorial service will begin at 1 p.m. at the funeral home with Pastor Bill Farr officiating. Burial to follow at the Laona Cemetery. Online condolences may be left at www.weberhillfuneralhome.com.
