Lorraine A. “Rainee” Raasch, 54, of Gresham, died unexpectedly on Saturday, March 15, 2014. Born on June 6, 1959, in Shawano, she was the daughter of the late Theodore “Ted” and Ruth “Butchie” (Beversdorf) Meidam.
Rainee loved spending time with her family and friends, especially on the various adventures, all of which left many impacted memories with on open door for more. She had an open door policy with many who either needed a lift or a meal; either way, you left enlightened and full. She loved to inspire children to be the best they could be. Her creative ambition left no stone unturned, which created the many works of art that she so proudly displayed. Rainee loved to hunt and fish and keep the birds fed. She looked forward to camping trips with her family and the yearly trip to Lake Winnie in Minnesota. One of her favorite passions was to build, feed and enjoy campfires; hence the expression “Rainee Wood.” Her half-witted, off-the-wall stories and antics left you with nothing but “gut” laughing. She also loved fishing for great deals at rummage sales, bargain stores and thrift stores.
Rainee leaves behind her husband of 29 years, Darold; her beloved daughter, Holly Jo Raasch, of North Dakota; and eight siblings and their spouses, Annie (Pete) Kahler and Michael (Kelly) Meidam, all of Shawano, James (Linda) Meidam, of Clintonville, Marjorie Anderson, Barb Gray, Joe (Cindy) Meidam and Kathy (Eric) Jensen, all of Shawano, and Matthew Meidam, of Green Bay. She is further survived by sisters-in-law, Laurie (Rick) Peotter, of Neenah, and Christine Berkholtz, of Tilleda; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Dan and Darlene Richards, of Gresham; numerous nieces and nephews; and special friend, Lynn Rynders.
Lorraine was preceded in death by her parents and father-in-law, Fred Raasch.
