Jeanne K. Kastner

Jeanne Kathryn Kastner, 74, of Red Wing, Minn., died at her home at Deer Crest on Monday, Nov. 18, 2013. She was born Sept. 27, 1939, in Shawano, the daughter of Elmer and Beatrice (Wilt) Rades. She graduated from Shawano High School in 1957 and moved to Milwaukee, where she worked for Northwestern Mutual Life. She married Robert Kastner in 1962. They lived in Milwaukee before moving to Sheboygan in 1966 and to Burnsville, Minn., in 1975. They returned to Sheboygan until 1982, when they moved to Red Wing. She was a member of the Church of St. Joseph, where she enjoyed being an active member. She was a member of PEO, a charter member of the Befrienders Program, and she enjoyed reading, doing crossword puzzles and cooking. She is survived by her husband, Robert; two sons, Jeffrey (Mona Marquardt) Kastner, of New York City, and Pete (Becky) Kastner, of Maple Grove, Minn.; four grandchildren, Sam, Audrey, Jack and Avery; one brother, James (Pam) Rades, of Shawano; one sister, Diane Wisner, of Dallas, Texas; nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents. Mass of the Resurrection will be at 1 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 23, 2013, at the Church of St. Joseph with the Rev. Thomas M. Kommers presiding. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery. Visitation will be for one hour prior to the service at the church. Memorials are preferred to the American Cancer Society.
