William John Rebholz, 72, of Griffin, passed away Saturday, Jan. 11, 2020 at Select Medical Midtown Hospital. Mr. Rebholz was born in Big Bend on Sept. 19, 1947.
He was preceded in death by parents, Charles and Florence Rebholz; sisters Norma Jean Stemper, Janice Waltz, Rosemary Juranitch and Karen Hokanstad. He was a veteran of the United States Army, having served in the Vietnam War and a member of the West Sunny Side Community Church. Mr. Rebholz was retired from the K-Mart Distribution Warehouse.
Mr. Rebholz is survived by his wife, Sonok Rebholz; daughter and son-in-law, Polly and Scott Chapman; son and daughter-in-law, Russell and Kelly Rebholz; grandchildren, Ryan Chapman, Chloe Chapman, Blair Rebholz, William “Judson” Rebholz; brother, Russell Rebholz; sister and brother-in-law, Jane and Clark Gossett; brother-in-law, John Juranitch; several nieces and nephews.
A visitation was held Tuesday, Jan. 14, 2020, from 6-8 p.m. at Conner-Westbury Funeral Home. A funeral service will be Wednesday, Jan. 15, 2020 at 2:00 pm West Sunny Side Community Church. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. Pastors Billy Anderson, Hugh Smith and Jonathan Fitzpatrick will officiate. Mr. Rebholz will be carried to the church to lie in state one hour prior to the services.
