Pearl H. Vorpahl, 101, of Suring, passed away on Saturday, July 21, 2023. Pearl was born on Dec. 3, 1921, to the late William and Olive (Johns) Milheiser. She worked to support her family and was a dedicated wife and mother.
Pearl had numerous jobs including as a baker and laborer at the canning factory. She started nursing school and worked as a nurse’s aide at the nursing home. Pearl was always willing to help those in need and was very active in her community. She was a member of the VFW Auxiliary. Pearl was also an active church member. She served on Emmanuel and Tabor Lutheran Churches’ Ladies Aid, participated and taught Bible studies and taught Sunday school. Pearl enjoyed quilting.
Pearl is survived by her daughter, Lydia Vorpahl; sons, William (Toni) Ellenbecker, Arthur Ellenbecker, Robert Ellenbecker and James Vorpahl; brother, Charles Milheiser; many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren. She is further survived by many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husbands, Carl Ellenbecker and Norman Vorpahl; siblings, Barbara, Jannette, Robert, Dale and Andrew; and daughters-in-law, Cindy Ellenbecker and Sylvia Ellenbecker.
Visitation will be held on Friday, July 28, 2023, at Tabor Lutheran Church in Mountain from 9 a.m. until the funeral service at 11 a.m. with Pastor Steven Stoll officiating. Pearl will be interred beside Norman at Highland Memorial Park in Appleton.
