Donald Alfred Ruege, 79, of West De Pere, passed away peacefully April 18, 2025, surrounded by family and friends.
He was born March 2, 1946, to Alfred and Angeline (Hansen) Ruege in Suring. He.graduated from Suring High School in 1964. On Dec. 18, 1965, Don married his high school sweetheart, June Schuettpelz.
Don wanted his legacy to be “Our children. Our family.” His legacy lives on through his lessons of humor, honesty, respect, integrity and family values
Survivors include June Ruege, wife of almost 60 years; children, Steven Ruege (Rosemarie) Columbia City, Oregon, Retha Kellner-Ruege, Manitowoc; and grandchildren, Kyle Ruege, Sydney, Izzy, Ally Romandine; five step-grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; siblings Lois Adams (Richard), Gary Ruege (Betty), Naomi Bahrke, Alger Schuettpelz (Althea), Alvin Schuettpelz, Dennis Schuettpelz; nieces and nephews; close friends and neighbors.
Visitation will be from 9-11 a.m. April 28 at Beautiful Savior Lutheran Church, 2160 Packerland Drive, Green Bay. The funeral will be at 11 a.m.
Lunch will follow. A graveside service with cremated remains will be held after lunch at the Cemetery of the Holy Sepulchre in Howard.
