Rita M. Moede, 67, of Shawano, passed away in her home on Saturday, March 26, 2022. Rita was born in Shawano on Feb. 20, 1955, to the late Wilbert Paul “W.P.” and Dell (Bruetzmann) Buss. Rita graduated from Shawano High School. She was a wonderful baker and was well known for her delicious Christmas cookies which she generously shared with countless people in the community. She was an avid bowler in her younger years and made many lifelong friends through bowling.
People came to know and love Rita’s welcoming smile through her many years working as the service manager at her family’s business, Buss Auto in Shawano. Rita was a wonderful woman, generous and kind, she was a dedicated and proud mother and grandmother, and her family will miss her greatly.
Rita is survived by her three children, Cari Beversdorf, Christopher (Molly) Moede and Ryan Moede; four beloved grandchildren, Taylor, Rayna, Ada, and Alice; and brothers and sisters, Ron (Nancy) Buss, Richard (Julie) Buss, Rory (Lisa) Buss, Robert (Sharon) Buss, Rochelle (Kevin) Gannon, RoJene Brown, and Renee (Durand) Burns. She is further survived by numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, countless friends, and of course the love of her life, Michael Bolton, her one true love.
Rita was preceded in death by her parents, Wilbert and Dell; and two sisters, Ricki Buss and Randi Rusniak.
A celebration of Rita’s life is being planned for a later date. Swedberg Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
