Marlin G. Wiskow Jr., 51, of Shawano, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his family Oct. 12, 2025, following a courageous battle with cancer.
Marlin was born Sept. 27, 1974, in Oconto Falls, the son of Janice “Jan” McDermid and Marlin Wiskow Sr. He attended Bonduel High School and graduated with the class of 1993.
After high school, he entered the workforce and held various positions in the manufacturing industry. Most recently, he had been employed at Aarrowcast in Shawano, where he worked for 14 years.
On Sept. 26, 2015, Marlin was united in marriage to the former Renee Linke, having always said he would stay single until he met the love of his life.
Marlin enjoyed spending his time doing the things he loved. He was a big fan of Harley-Davidson motorcycles and proudly maintained a well-loved Jack Daniel’s collection. He enjoyed playing family poker games, dartball and woodworking.
As a car enthusiast, Marlin loved attending car shows and going to the races. He also had a soft spot for his cats, who brought him comfort and companionship throughout the years. Marlin was a proud member of the Doc’s HOG Chapter.
Survivors include his wife, Renee; parents, Jan (Charlie Thiel) McDermid and Marlin Wiskow Sr.; sister, Wendy (Jim) Van Dornick; brother, Kyle (Andrea) Waite; nieces and nephews, Kiana (Morganna), Keith, Kleo, James III, Jayse and Jacob Van Dornick; second mom, Sher La Brosse; Renee’s nieces and nephews, Kaitlyn (Michael) Mazza, and Dylan (special friend Kristin) Markelz; special niece and nephew, Abigail (Cole) Stuebs and Zach Rusch; very special great-niece, Adalyn Mazza; in-laws, Don and Sandy Linke; sister-in-law, Rhonda (Tom) Markelz; and his cats, Jeff, Leia and Opie. He is further survived by numerous cousins.
Marlin was preceded in death by his cat, Benjamin; his grandparents; and many aunts and uncles.
A funeral service for Marlin G. Wiskow Jr. will be held on Friday, Oct. 17, 2025, at 11 a.m. at Mickelson Funeral Service in Shawano. Geoffrey McDermid will be the officiant. Visitation will begin on Thursday, Oct. 16, 2025, from 4-7 p.m. at Mickelson Funeral Service in Shawano. Visitation will continue on Friday at the funeral home from 9 a.m. until the time of service.
