Harry Hirt, 87, of Soddy-Daisy, Tennessee, formerly of Tigerton, passed away on Sunday, Nov. 2, 2025, following a brief illness.
He was born in Tigerton on Feb. 21, 1938.
We rejoice in knowing he has been reunited in heaven with his wife, Donna, who passed away in December 2024.
He is preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Darlene Anderson; son, David Hirt; grandson, Darren Jahnke; Heather Hirt; son-in-law, Barry VanDelinder; and daughter-in-law, Glennis Hirt.
He is survived his daughters, Debra Smith (David), Elizabeth VanDelinder; son-in-law, Michael Anderson; grandchildren, Nathan Anderson (Brandy), Danielle Smith (Brian), Barry VanDelinder (Samantha), William VanDelinder (Benny) and Christine Watson (Shane); his brother, Harlan Hirt (Judy); Hildred Tornberg (Ed), Anna Hirt (Patty) and Catherine Eidel; as well as a special sister-in-law, Kathie Greenwood (Dennis); 14 great-grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Harry was of the Lutheran faith and loved his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. In his hometown of Tigerton, Harry will always be known as “Hookshot Harry” for his skill on the basketball court. He was most proud of the family he made with Donna and their children along with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
No services will be held at his request.
