George L. King

George L. “Uncle George” King, 69, passed away on Monday, Feb. 28, 2022, in Shawano. George was born in Kenosha on April 29, 1952, to the late Ivan and Lucille (Hanson) King. George was a great chef who worked in numerous restaurants in California and Wisconsin. He was famous for his Friday night fish fry. He loved animals and all animals were drawn to his gentle and quiet way with them. In his younger years, George enjoyed karaoke and would receive numerous requests to sing Neil Diamond, earning him the nickname George Diamond. He is survived by his sisters, Sandra King, Beverly Schuelke, Sharon Carey and Ellen Avratin; nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. George is preceded in death by his parents, Ivan and Lucille. In accordance with George’s wishes no public services will be held. www.swedbergfuneralhome.com
