Allan R. Wilke Sr.

Allan R. Wilke Sr., 96, passed away on Saturday, June 18, 2022, in Shawano. He was born Nov. 23, 1925, to the late William Wilke Sr. and Edna (Zeroith) Wilke in Lena. He graduated from Gillett High School with the Class of 1943. Allan served in the United States Army in World War II. He was joined in marriage to Delores Martin in November 1952 in Keshena. She preceded him in death in 1983. Allan and Delores raised four of their own children and three foster children on Moshawquit Lake. Allan wed Sandra Redlin in Gillett in 1985. She preceded him in death in 2017. He was a beer salesman for Tony and Travis Lubinski. Allan also served as an independent electrician. He enjoyed gardening, fishing, golfing and winter vacations in Arizona. Allan was a member of the Underhill Sportsman’s Club for over 35 years. He is survived by his children, Allen (Diane) Wilke Jr., Annette (Larry) Chapman, Steven (Alicia) Wilke, Paul Wilke, Kim (Mike) Cismoski, Karla Redlin, Kurt (Wendy) Redlin; foster children, Rodney “Murphy” Lyons, Lisa Annamitta and Richard Annamitta; 19 grandchildren; 31 great-grandchildren, three great-great-grandchildren; and sister, Marilyn (Lyle) Bloedorn. Allan is preceded in death by his wives, Delores and Sandra; parents; two brothers, William Jr. and James; and two grandchildren, Ryan Fischer and Britta Koldrup. A funeral service for Allan will be held at 1 p.m. at St. John Church in Gillett on Saturday, June 25, 2022, with Pastor Chris Byars officiating with military honors being done by the Gillett American Legion. Visitation will be on 4-8 p.m. on Friday at Swedberg Funeral Home in Shawano and at noon until the time of service on Saturday at the church. In lieu of flowers, Allan has requested donations be directed to the Shawano Special Olympics in the name of his daughter, Karla.
