Helen J. Ebert, 99, of Tigerton, passed away on Saturday, Aug. 17, 2013, at the Shawano Medical Center.
The former Helen Jeannette Klement was born May 3, 1914, in Leopolis to Jacob and Barbara (Kutil) Klement. She was united in marriage on June 2, 1938, to Urban M. Ebert at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Leopolis. Helen was a lifelong resident of the Leopolis, Marion and Tigerton areas. The past seven years she has lived with her daughter Mary in Tigerton. In her later years, Helen also helped her husband with the rural mail route for some time. But she was always most proud of her family, being a devoted wife and a loving mother and grandmother. Helen was a member of St. Anthony’s Catholic Church and is a former PCCW member. She enjoyed fishing, reading books and working in her vegetable garden.
Survivors include her 10 children: Mike (Laura) Ebert, of Menominee, Mich., Jerry (Gail) Ebert, of Kimberling City, Mo., Jim Ebert, of West Allis, Barb (Tom) Ruppenthal, of Sussex, Dick Ebert, of Conroe, Texas, Mary (Walt) Selle, of Tigerton, Steve (Bonnie) Ebert, of Brookfield, Anne (George) Buchberger, of Wausau, Ruth (Bob) Kaiser, of Horicon, and Kate (John) Hoffman, of Tigerton. There are 29 grandchildren and 42 great-grandchildren; one sister, Marcella Nelson, of Milan, Ill.; and three sisters-in-law, Elaine Ebert, of Florida, Beverly Ebert, of Shawano, and Angie Ebert, of Shawano. She is further survived by many other relatives and friends.
Helen was preceded in death by her husband, Urban; a daughter, Susan, who died in infancy; sister, Mary; and brothers, George, Frank, James, John and Donald.
The Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, Aug. 22, at 11 a.m. at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church, Tigerton. The Rev. Patrick Lloyd will officiate, and burial will be at St. Mary’s parish cemetery in Leopolis. Friends may call on Thursday from 9 a.m. until the time of the Mass at the church.
