Julie Hasser, Shawano County’s director of human resources, will serve as interim administrative coordinator for the next several months, following the abrupt resignation of Jim Davel earlier this month.
Hasser’s appointment was made Oct. 15 at the meeting of the county’s executive committee.
She will be paid an additional $5,000 per month for the added duties.
When the committee meets in February 2026, members will presumably decide on a long-term solution. Their recommendation will be forwarded to the county board for approval.
Among the decisions to be made regarding a job description will be one regarding department heads and whether they will report to the administrative coordinator or to the committee that oversees the department.
During the interim, Hasser will report to and receive direction from the executive committee.
Committee members will collect input from department heads at a Nov. 3 meeting and address job description details after that.
Davel, who had months ago submitted a resignation/retirement letter to be effective in January, announced Oct. 1 his last day would be Oct. 10. The day before his second resignation letter, he accepted a job as village administrator in Kronenwetter in Marathon County.
