Wolf River Habitat for Humanity broke ground in April for a new affordable home on Jesse Court in Shawano.
Volunteers, employees, board members and Habitat’s newest partner family of Nicole Waupochick and her children joined in the ceremony.
The home will be a four-bedroom energy efficient dwelling constructed with employees, volunteers and the partner family. The home will be purchased from Habitat by the partner family with a 30-year low interest USDA mortgage.
Habitat is a nonprofit organization whose mission is seeking to put God’s love into action by bringing people together to build homes, communities and hope. Wolf River Habitat serves Shawano and Menominee counties.
Waupochick and her family are the 22nd family that Habitat has partnered with to provide affordable housing since 1998.
Wolf River Habitat homebuilding is financed by donations and proceeds from the Shawano ReStore at 414 E. Elizabeth St., Shawano.
