Frederic Joseph Raasch, 73, of the Gresham area, passed away Sunday, Dec. 1, 2013, in Shawano. Born on May 25, 1940, in Shawano, he was the son of the late Henry and Elizabeth (Dillenberg) Raasch.
Fred owned and operated Shawano/Gresham Sand and Gravel and was a member of the St. Francis Solanus Catholic Church in Gresham. When not working, Fred enjoyed hunting, fishing, building his own cars and racing at the Shawano Speedway and creating mischief. He was united in marriage to Nancy Marquardt.
Fred is survived by his wife, Nancy; two daughters, Laurie (Rick) Peotter, of Neenah, and Christine Berkholtz, of Tilleda; a son, Darold (Lorraine) Raasch, of Gresham; three grandchildren, Nick, Holly Jo, Brent; and three sisters, Angeline Keating, of Milwaukee, Mary Raasch, of Sun City, Ariz., and Rita (John) Mondus, of Shawano.
Fred was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Delores.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Dec. 6, 2013, at St. Francis Solanus Catholic Church in Gresham with the Rev. David Barrett officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Visitation will be held at the church on Friday from 9 a.m. until the time of the service.
