Edith “Babe” Peters, Nov. 25, 1937 – March 5, 2014. Our mother, grandmother, sister, aunty and dearest friend.
Mokacewenukiw (Spring Water Woman) has left us physically to continue her journey to be with her mother, Margaret, and father, Alex Peters Sr.; daughters, Wimpy, JoAnne and Melody; sisters, Sauce, Loney, Skate, Lus, Mable and Ella; her strong brothers, Boots, Jim Flea, John and Little Bob.
She has enjoyed the fruits of life that Mother Earth provided her with; her family, Robert “Charlie” Beyersdorf, Debra (Roger) McPherson, Bonnie Sue Peters, Gerald Dick, Dina Dick and Bobby Jean Baca. She also raised grandchildren, Rendell, Richard, Rose, Lewis, Dion and her baby Jerrick. Keep them in your prayers along with her other 14 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren.
She will also be deeply missed by her many nieces and nephews, including special nephew, Alex J. “Chum” Peters Sr.
Babe was involved in the Menominee Community; her heart was in the South Branch Community Committee, where she was a dedicated board member. She also had a passion for Menominee language and culture. Edith worshipped at River Valley Church in Shawano.
As per her wishes, there will be no wake services; however, the family and friends are consoling at her home in South Branch, W749 Nacottee Addition, up until the celebratory dinner at the South Branch Community Center at 2 p.m. Saturday, March 8, 2014.
