Summer hours at the Shawano County Courthouse will go into effect May 4, after the county’s executive committee approved a proposal at its April 15 meeting.

From May 4 through Sept. 20, the courthouse will be open from 7 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Thursday and from 7-11 a.m. Friday.

“I know that Sept. 20 is going to come across as a late date, but Sept. 7, which is Labor Day, is also a payroll Monday, and that is somewhat of a nightmare to have the transition start at that time,” said Julie Hasser, human resources director and interim administrative coordinator.

Departments that are unable to accommodate the summer hours — clerk of courts, district attorney’s office, sheriff’s department — can use flex time and management to maximize the benefit for department employees.
