The Ripon College Jazz Ensemble and Jazz Combo performed April 21.
Angela Mosconi, of Gillett, performed in the jazz ensemble. Mosconi is majoring in chemistry and mathematics with a minor in physics at Ripon College.
The jazz ensemble performed “Sweet Time Suite: Opening,” by Kenny Wheeler; “Light,” by Paul Dietrich; “Cute,” by Neal Hefti; “How High the Moon,” arranged by Dave Wolpe; “Moanin’,” by Charles Mingus, arranged by Sy Johnson; “Prairie Dance,” by Maria Schneider; “A Place in the World,” by Pat Metheny and Lyle Mays, arranged by Bob Curnow; and “Hubble,” by Matt Ulery.

The Ripon College Chamber Singers performed repertoire from their spring tour April 20.

Ripon College held its spring 2023 Catalyst Day April 19. Held each fall and spring, Catalyst Day is designed to showcase Ripon College’s Catalyst curriculum and celebrate the achievements of the students who are completing the junior-level collaborative capstone. Throughout the day, attendees had the opportunity to watch teams of students present problem solving projects that tackle worldwide issues.
Calysta Kurz, of Oconto, participated in a catalyst presentation titled “Reducing Agricultural Water Use in Oklahoma through Plant Engineering and Targeted Evaporation Prevention.”
Lauren Bahr, of Wittenberg, participated in a catalyst presentation titled “Reconnecting Ripon: Certification Program for the Ripon Community (Credit Karma).”
Ava Zamzow, of Eland, also presented, but the college provided no details on her topic.
St. Norbert College
Elizabeth Weatherwax, of Clintonville, was initiated into The Honor Society of Phi Kappa Phi, the nation’s oldest and most selective collegiate honor society for all academic disciplines.
They are among approximately 25,000 students, faculty, professional staff and alumni to be initiated into Phi Kappa Phi each year. Membership is by invitation only and requires nomination and approval by a chapter. Only the top 10% of seniors and 7.5% of juniors are eligible for membership.

Every year, Ripon College holds an Awards Convocation to recognize outstanding merit and achievement among students and faculty members.
Lauren Bahr, a student from Wittenberg, received an award. Bahr is majoring in history with a minor in educational studies at the college.

The Ripon College choirs and orchestra performed April 23, in Demmer Recital Hall, C.J. Rodman Center for the Arts.
Carly Stefl, of Shawano, and Calysta Kurz, of Oconto, performed in the choir and orchestra concert. Stefl is a class of 2026 undeclared major, and Kurz is a class of 2024 psychobiology major with a minor in communication.
