Under the leadership of President Troy Edwards, the Shawano Optimist Club has earned Honor Club recognition for the 2021-22 year. Honor Club criteria represent the basic level of service any Optimist Club should strive to provide every year.
“The Honor Club concept promotes service to children, service to community and service to ourselves through personal growth and development,” Edwards said. “I’m proud that our club continues to meet those criteria.”
The criteria that must be met to achieve Honor Club status include completing at least three service projects, having at least a net of three new members, donating to the Optimist International Foundation, staying current on district and Optimist International dues, having a club member attend at least two district conferences and completing monthly reports on time.
Gail Moesch, a member of the Shawano Optimists who is currently serving as district lieutenant governor, presented Edwards with an Honor Club Citation at a recent club meeting.
