Clintonville names new fire chief

The Clintonville Police and Fire Commission on Thursday announced that Shane Krueger has been named the new Clintonville fire chief. The commission in October accepted the resignations of Fire Chief Dean Poole and Assistant Chief Scott Eggleston. Both had been with the department for 21 years. No explanation for the resignations was discussed, and neither Poole nor Eggleston could be reached for comment. Krueger, who has been with the department for 16 years, previously was a lieutenant. Three assistant chiefs were also named on Thursday: Andy Beggs, former captain and interim assistant chief, 13 years with department; Jon Carrick, former captain and interim fire chief, 19 years; and Todd Prellwitz, former lieutenant and interim assistant chief, 16 years. Krueger’s previous position was given to Mike Poole. By early next year, the new officers will recommend permanent appointments for the lieutenant and captain vacancies. The department provides service to Clintonville and the townships of Bear Creek, Larrabee and Matteson.
